Lielie Tetoni | Grand Teton

Kalni mūs sauca tādēļ bija laiks pagriezt auto dienvidu virzienā un doties pretim Lielajiem Tetoniem. Lieli tie tiešām bija un viņu majestātisko esamību citādāk būtu grūti raksturot. Tiesa, kad to ierauga daudz vārdu, lai tos aprakstītu nav nepieciešams, drīzāk brīdis vai divi klusumā, lai tos varētu izbaudīt. Kalni gan nav vienīgā lieta, kas pievelk ceļotājus šajā vietā. Tā ir daudzu lietu kombinācija, kur viena no tām ir dzīvnieki. Ieskaitot veselīgu aļņu populāciju. Par nožēlu , viņi gan nevēlējās ar mums satikties. Viņu vietā gan izdevās satikt bizoņus (atkal…) un ļoti neapmierinātu vāveri. ;)

The mountains were calling and we set our course south, towards Grand Tetons. Grand they were and this word indeed properly describes these majestic mountains. When you see them you are more speechless than willing to describe them in whole lot words, so … Grand. But mountains are not the only thing that draws one person towards this place. It is combination of many, and one of them is wildlife. Including healthy moose population. Unfortunately they didn’t wanted to meet with us… Instead we met some bison (again) and angry squirrel. ;)

[LV] Ar vēlmi tikt tālāk no tūristu burzmas, un nedaudz atvilkt elpu, atradām mums ļoti piemērotu kempingu mežā. Šķita, ka šeit esam vieni paši, tādēļ bija cerība uz pastiprinātāku dzīvnieku aktivitāti. Vīlāmies, jo esot tur divas dienas, pat lācis mūs neapciemoja. ;(

[EN] It was also one of the first times on trip, when we actually wanted to stop and do nothing for couple days. We found camp spot away from tourist area and traffic, where we could relax. As we were the only ones at the campsite we hoped for some wildlife viewing, but no… In couple days we spent there, it was pretty quiet. Even bear didn't bother to come for a visit. ;(

 [LV] Protams, nebija jau tā, ka galu galā sanāca darīt neko. Karšu apskate, domāšana par maršrutu un potenciāli nepamanīto apskates objektu meklēšana bija sarakstā. Domāšana par maršrutu gan ir diezgan bezjēdzīga nodarbe ņemot vērā, ka tas mainās katru dienu, ja ne stundu. :)

[EN] And of course we didn’t end up doing nothing. Looking at maps, thinking about route and figuring out is there anything worth doing around that we might have missed was on the list. Not that the route planning really is important, as it usually changes every day, if not hour. :)

[LV] Viena ļoti dusmīga vāvere!!! ;) | [EN] One extremely angry squirrel!!! ;)

[LV] Ar šiem jauniešiem jūs jau esat pazīstami ;) | [EN] You know these guys already ;)

[LV] Kārtīga Lielo Tetonu bilžu kolekcija, bez šīs Klēts neizpaliek un varam redzēt kāpēc. :)

[EN] This barn is probably in every Grand Teton picture collection, and we can see why. :)

[LV] Pēc nelielas atpūtas mežā, tika nolemts, ka nepieciešama fiziska aktivitāte. Pārskatot pārgājienu sarakstu, pēc nejaušības principa, tika izvēlēts viens. Un par laimi izrādījās, ka labāku izvēli izdarīt nebija iespējams. Galda kalna (Table mountain) pārgājiens pieved piedzīvojumu meklētājus Lielā Tetona otrā pusē. Skatoties uz to ir sajūta, ka pastiepjot roku būs iespēja tam pieskarties. Arī skatam no augšas nav ne mazākās vainas.

[EN] After our little relaxation in woods we were ready to do some workout. We looked at hike list and picked out one randomly. It turned out to be best choice. Table Mountain hike takes hikers to the back of Grand Teton and from there it literary feels like you could touch it. Not only that, it’s a million dollar view from the top as well.

[LV] Kā variet iedomāties, mēs tiešām izbaudījām Lielos Tetonus un tas daļēji ir izskaidrojams ar mūsu mīlestību pret Klinšu Kalnu grēdu, un daļēji ar mīlestību pret kalniem pēc būtības. Tie vienmēr mainās un nekad nav tādi paši, tā ir viena no lietām, kāpēc tie pievelk mūs tik ļoti.

[EN] As you can imagine we really enjoyed Grand Tetons and that partially can be explained by our love towards Rocky Mountain range, and partially by love towards mountains in general. They are never the same and that is what truly fascinates us.
