Scottish Highlands II

Ar jebkuru vietu, kura ir relatīvi droša, skaista un atrodas rietumu pasaulē, var gaidīt, ka to apmeklēs liels skaits cilvēku (tūristu). Skotija nav izņēmums. Lietus vai saule, vai daudz lietu, vienalga liels daudzums apmeklētāju pārvietoties pa to ar velo, auto vai kemperiem. Ir tiešām interesanti noskatīties, kā kemperi manevrē pa šiem šaurajiem ceļiem. Tiesa tie nav Ikarusa lieluma autobusi, ko tā iecienījuši ir Kanādiešu un Amerikāņu sezonālie tūristi Ziemeļamerikā. Bet neskatoties uz to, ceļi ir tiešām šauri un mums bija pietiekoši daudz jautrības ar auto vien.



Otrajā ceļojuma daļā apmeklējām Ziemeļrietumu Augstienes un Debesu Salu (Isle of Sky). Abi, patiesi skaisti un unikāli Skotijas reģioni. Viena lieta gan visu laiku pietrūka – pils ūdens tilpnes krastā. Tā ir vēl viena klišeja un standart lieta ar ko mums asociējās Skotija. Bet tad pēkšņi, tur tā bija – ideālā lokācijā ar kalniem tās fonā. Ko gan vairāk varēja vēlēties?! :)

Pēc Augstieņu (Highlands) apmeklēšanas esam sākuši vēl vairāk domāt par mājas pieskatīšanu (house sitting). Būtu ļoti jauki atrast kādu māju, kuru varētu pieskatīt uz pāris mēnešiem un nesteidzoties izbaudīt Skotiju. Kādu dienu! :)

As with any place that is relatively safe, beautiful and located in western world, you can expect there will be tons of visitors. Scotland is no exception. Rain or shine or lots of rain, there still will be large amount of people riding around in their bikes, cars and RVs. Yes, it’s fun to see RVs on these narrows roads. RVs here of course are not of the size of Greyhound buses – the ones favorited by Canadian and American snowbirds. Still the roads are narrow and riding with car alone was fun enough for us.

Second part of our journey consisted of visiting North West Highlands and Isle of Sky. Both really beautiful and spectacular regions. One thing was missing trough out the drive was a real castle near water – something that we also associate with Scotland. And then suddenly there is was – picture perfect, on the water with a mountains in back.  :)

After visiting Highlands we started to thinking more about house sitting. It would be nice, to find a place here that we could look after for couple months. Place were we could relax and soak in Scotland without any rush. Someday! :)

[LV] Gandrīz ideāla kempinga vieta, ja neskaita faktu ka visu nakti pūta mežonīgs vējš un bija 10 minūšu brīži bez lietus. Pirmais vakarā, kad uzlikām telti, otrais no rīta kad ātri novācam to nost. :)

[EN] Almost, the best camping spot, except the fact that wind was howling all night, and we found two 10 minute windows of no rain. First in the evening to setup tent and second in the morning to take it down without getting too wet :)
